Cristina L. Ciocca – Psy.D.

Dr. Cristina Ciocca is a highly-respected Connecticut-licensed clinical neuropsychologist. She has more than 15 years’ experience in private practice, serving both children and adults.  The Farmington-based doctor has a diverse client base stretching across the state of Connecticut, as well as in neighboring states.

Dr. Ciocca has a very well-established professional background in organic/traumatic brain injury, having trained at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital and at the Institute of Living Hartford Hospital. Dr. Ciocca specializes in helping children who have been challenged by developmental, learning or emotional issues. Dr. Ciocca has wide experience in assessing children and adults for all brain-related impairments and injuries. She also has extensive experience of working with severe traumatic brain injury in adults.

Fluent in English, Spanish and  Italian, Dr. Ciocca graduated Valedictorian from St. John Newman High School. She continued her college education at Marquette University, Wisconsin, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude . Her professional education was gained at the University of Miami and Nova University, as well as at the Miami Institute of Psychology,  where she was presented with Most Outstanding Student and Highest Achievement  awards, in addition to graduating with the prestigious Distinguished Doctoral Student award Dr. Ciocca has studied under the expert tuition of the preeminent neuropsychologists Dr. Alfredo Ardila and Dr. Monica Rosselli.

In 1996, at the completion of her postdoctoral training at the Institute of Living – Hartford Hospital, Dr. Ciocca was offered a permanent position at the insitution which one of the first mental health centers in the United States, and the first hospital of any kind in Connecticut. Although she ultimately opted to go into private practice to enable her to a better serve the greater Hartford area and wider community in general, she continues to consult at Hartford-based institution.
